Licencing
The Security Industry Authority (SIA) is the organisation responsible for regulating the private security industry reporting to the Home Secretary under the Private Security Act 2001.
The SIA have two main responsibilities, one is the compulsory licensing of individuals within the private security industry; the other is to manage the voluntary Approved Contractor Scheme, which is used to measure private security providers against assessed criteria. It has introduced a set of operational and performance standards for the providers of the private security services and those organisations who meet the standards are awarded Approved Contractor Status. Here at a1 Training, we did just that.
If you would like more information on the SIA or wish to apply for your Licence please visit; www.sia.homeoffice.gov.uk![]()
